Amanda: Pink Grapefruit Fizz Swing Skirt c/o Devel | Lola Crop Top c/o Violets in May 1945
Mule Heels in White - Pinup Girl Clothing |  Rita Fiesta Shopper c/o Sunjellies

Katie:  Lemonade Swing Skirt c/o Devel | Baby Pink Peasant Top - Pinup Girl Clothing
Tan Mandalaye Flats - Amazon  | Lemonade Pin - Vintage

I (Katie) first found out about Devel, when I saw picture of the 'Freshly Squeezed' line on Instagram.  The skirts were so bright and cheery, and I knew I HAD to have one.  All I could think about were all of the Beyonce references I could make while wearing the Lemonade Swing that's automatically a plus in my mind.  The quality of the skirts is wonderful, we were so impressed. They're a thick white cotton and the fruity accents are also a thick cotton.  They close with a side zipper and little metal clasp enclosure, there are no pockets but these were made as bespoke pieces, so we were able to choose our waist and length measurements.  We decided to style them with and without petticoats so you ladies would have a reference so I'm wearing mine without and Amanda is wearing hers with the Pinup Girl Clothing Underskirt (our go-to).

Danielle, the designer of Devel, is kind enough to offer 20% off orders from the Freshly Squeezed range, including both the skirts and tops.  Orders are placed by email at the moment, so just mention the code FRESHPEACHES when getting in contact. All orders will be made custom to the wearer's measurements, and the code is valid until the June 30, 2016.  We recommend adding at least a half inch to your waist measurement when having your piece made.

Friday Favorites #62: Memorial Day Sales

Friday, May 27, 2016

This Friday Favorites is coming just in time for some really awesome 3 day weekend sales!  The ones we're most looking forward to include: Unique Vintage - 20% off sitewide!  The entire top row of the dresses above are from UV.  They recently started carrying one of our favorite AUS brands, Retrocpec'd and all their dresses are absolutely amazing, all that was keeping me from buying more of them before was shipping cost so, I'm in trouble.

We're also excited about Modcloth's 40% off section (which is where the bottom row of dresses is from) and thanks to reader Amanda for letting us know, they're doing an extra 20% off their sale section with promo code "SOHOT".  They have some really cute summer dresses in there for less than $50 (always a selling point).

New York and Company is doing 50% off sitewide with no exceptions!  Y'all might have read our post about the Eva Mendes Collection (if you haven't you can read it here), but now is a great time to grab those pieces good and cheap, including the one pictured above.

1) Grace Dress in Russian Blue - Hearts and Found
2) Daisy Brooch - Carol Hurst
 3) Bee Necklace - Rosebud Casson
4) Paris Dress in Makeup Print - Bernie Dexter
5) Penelope Dress in Ring 'o' Roses - Hearts and Found
6) Little Bee Purse - Asos
7) Floral Teapot - Gloriously Glittery

These were the things we were going to include in our normal Friday Favorites post before we realized there were so many good sales to share! But, I decided to include it anyways. :D  I've talked about Hearts and Found many times on our blog and have no problem admitting the shop is, hands down, one of my favorite Etsy shops.  They make the Grace Dress in Russian Blue and the Penelope Dress in Ring 'o' Roses pictured above.  I just got 3 new dresses from them and I can't wait to share them with y'all. ;)

Last but not least, I've been in love with these vintage mugshots from LarkenDesign for an eternity now and I'm almost ready to just pull the trigger and buy them.

Plaid + Flowers

Katie: Pink Plaid Dress c/o Voodoo Vixen | Pink Radio Brooch c/o Deer Arrow
Black Nana Heels - BAIT Footwear

Amanda: Sylvia Dress c/o Voodoo Vixen  |   Playful Pansy Brooch c/o Erstwilder
Ida Heels - BAIT Footwear  |  Bracelets - Vintage  |  Earrings - made by me

We're sitting here wondering how it is already almost June.  I'm not sure if it's just us, but it seems like May has flown by!  If it wasn't for the days getting increasingly hotter, we may not have even noticed that Summer is slowly creeping up on us.  For that reason, we're trying to get all the wear out of our favorite things with sleeves we possibly can because soon enough, dresses like this pink plaid Voodoo Vixen dress will have to be packed away, because the longer sleeves will be just too hot (this dress hasn't seemed to have made it on their website yet, but hopefully it will be released soon!)

Amanda is wearing one of our favorite dresses from the summer collection which has a little tiered skirt and a subtle gingham print (and y'all know we'll take gingham in any form).  The dress doesn't have stretch and there are no pockets but the straps were adjustable.  Also, she's wearing the faux poodle hairpiece recommended in Vintagious' Lazy Pinup Poodle Video again because.. it's just too easy and convenient not to love.

Also, Amanda's birthday was Saturday so everyone wish her a very happy belated birthday! YAY!!!!

Loly in the Sky

Monday, May 23, 2016

Amanda: Tamara Flats c/o Loly in the Sky  |  Gingham Shirtdress with Belt - vintage (similar)
Classic Cherry Brooch - Luxulite  |  Bracelets - vintage Bakelite and Splendette

Katie:  Polina Flats c/o Loly in the Sky | 1960s Inspired Mini-Skirt c/o Miss Ladybug
Honey Mustard Cardigan c/o Unique Vintage | Wine Cami - Forever 21
Enamel Flower Brooch - Alicia's Oddities

We're no strangers when it comes to novelty prints on our clothing, but these are some of our first novelty shoes... or at least what we consider novelty shoes.  We tend to return to the same handful of brands when we're shoe shopping but I think that's more because we're picky about style and kinda hard on our shoes (RIP so many pairs of our shoes).  For those reasons, we're also always on the lookout for new brands to work into the rotation!  You might recognize Loly in the Sky from their popular "Hello Sunshine" shoes! The pieces from this season were just as cute and we were stoked to try their flats!  We both picked shoes that had words/phrases on them because, why not?

A little about the shoes!  They're vegan-friendly (which is awesome).  I (Katie) always have the hardest time buying shoes, because I never quite know what size I am.  I went with an 8.5 in these and at first I was worried they were a tad too small, but after wearing them for a little while they stretched just enough.  However, I'll probably size up to a 9 in my next pair.

Instagram Takeover: Emily and Fin

Friday, May 20, 2016

Amanda:  Claudia Dress in Summertime Harlequin c/o Emily and Fin |
Peach Brooch - vintage (similar) | Straw Boater Hat - thrifted (similar) | Mandalaye Flats - Amazon

Peach Brooch - vintage (similar) | Leve Flats - Amazon

Today is going to be a fun day because we're taking over Emily and Fin's Instagram and sharing our recent weekend adventure!  During my drive to visit Katie in Augusta, Georgia recently, we decided to spend an impromptu weekend in Charleston, South Carolina so, we packed our new Emily and Fin pieces and hit the road.  We're notoriously terrible about documenting our adventures but we took so many photos during our Charleston weekend, they won't all fit in one post, y'all will probably be seeing the rest of those in a future post.

We LOVE cheesy roadside attractions, so on the drive we started googling like crazy and by sheer chance were able to find a few. We hit up a UFO Welcome Center and stopped off in a little town called Ellory to visit a Teapot Museum.   It was super humid and since we spend so much of our time walking, these outfits were our go-to.  Everything was really comfy and easy to wear (though Katie eventually shed that cardigan haha).  Also, both the Claudia Dress and Robyn Skirt have pockets which is awesome for traveling.  Once we got to Charleston, we walked a TON, shopped, explored the outdoor market and a food festival, went to a dessert only restaurant and last but certainly not least, we went to the beach!  To see more of our adventure, hop on over to Instagram!
