Amanda: Pussybow Top in White + Trixie Skirt in Winter Wonderland (similar) c/o Doll Me Up
Faux Fur Wrap - Amazon  |  Belt - Pinup Girl Clothing  |  Gabrielle Heels in Green c/o Miss L Fire

Skunkboy Glasses - Bonlook | Irella Grey Heels - BAIT Footwear | Brooch - Luxulite | Purse - Fossil

Every month, we select a couple of pieces we're curious about from Doll Me Up to review for y'all (and you might see a bit of a pattern, because we admittedly have our favorites).  You can find our past posts here but this month we decided on some some light blue pieces in some sort of optimism we'd finally see cooler days (we were wrong).  I chose the Pussybow Top in White which is absolutely adorable but I will say I had to roll the sleeves because they were pretty long on me.  It has a cute little pussybow tie and the broader shoulder build you often see in 40's blouses, it's stretchy so I'd say they run pretty true to size.  I paired it with the Winter Wonderland Skirt (which is Bernie Dexter) since I'd never tried the Trixie Style skirt before.  It has little pockets per Bernie's usual and I can't wait to wear it throughout winter.

I (Katie) am wearing the Mrs. Aline Skirt.  It's really comfortable and lightweight which makes it the perfect skirt to wear on it's own or layer over tights.   I initially picked out this skirt in hopes of wearing it with tights, but the weather had a mind of it's own! I paired it with out hands down favorite sweater, the Tootsie Cardigan, this time going with ice blue which is already surprisingly coordinating with more in my wardrobe than I thought it would.

In other, unrelated news, we're pouring over all the books we received for Christmas so if anyone needs a good recommendation, Dita's book Your Beauty Mark is everything we'd hoped it would be and if you're into sci-fi, June just finished Old Man's War by John Scalzi and it was amazing.

Mint Ione Heels - BAIT Footwear | Tan Hair Scarf - Vintage | Spanx Shapewear - Amazon

AmandaBlack Wrap Top + Tartan Jodie Pencil Skirt c/o Unique Vintage
Seamed Stockings + Rago Shapewear Shorts - Amazon |  Bombshell Brooch - Merriweather
Bracelets - Bakelite + Splendette  |  Persia Heels c/o Miss L Fire

We don't know about y'all, but we've been experiencing some crazy weather lately!  It's in the 30s one day and the 70s the next so we're keeping alllllll our clothes out this year, zero rotation. The quick changes in the weather make it hard to plan outfits so we've been leaning towards longer sleeves + pencil skirts.  We picked a couple of new items out from Unique Vintage to help us deal with this weird weather and we especially love these Wrap Top, especially for work. Thank god for versatility.

When we wear pencil skirts + wiggle dresses, we regularly get questions about (oddly enough) our undergarments and how we have such smooth lines.  Some people may be a little modest or embarrassed talking about their undergarments, but I (Katie) have NO shame in admitting that hip shapewear is a must for me if I'm going to wear tight clothes.  Shapewear helps create a smooth line, and if your hips force you to have to size up (story of my life) shapewear can take off an inch or two so you can squeeze into tight clothing.  Even if you don't have any 'big hip issues' it's great to have undergarments for all occasions and to of avoid panty lines.  My go-to is this Spanx Shapewear and Amanda's is these Rago Shapewear Shorts which even have a little boning in them.

Here are some of our favorite shapewear pieces:

Merry Christmas (Eve)!
Amanda + Collin (not pictured: Lady Thackery Binx)
Katie (with Princess Beyonce) + Michael (with Ziggy the Spynhx Cat)

We also thought we'd share a few of the items on our Christmas list, we're obsessed with the clothing in Nudeedudee's Etsy Shop right now and we're lusting after so many of her beautiful blouses and denim wares, including the striped tops above.  Also, these little poodle brooches are just a sample but Bows and Crossbones recently opened and Etsy shop in addition to her regular online store and we're pretty stoked about that too.  Last, but of course not least, we've mentioned her things on the blog before but the skirts we have from Hearts and Found are some of our favorites.  They're lined, have pockets and are a great shape without having to wear a petticoat.  We can't wait to add a couple more to our wardrobes, especially this beautiful black rose one.

We've having a wonderful week taking it easy with family so we thought we'd share our family photos and wish you guys a Merry Christmas + Happy Holidays!  We're going to eat SO much food and soak up every second of a 1/2 work week.

// And the winner of the entire Mischief Made + Junebugs and Georgia Peaches Collaboration Collection is...Jessica D! Thank you to everyone for entering and good luck on winning the next giveaway!

Short-Sleeve Shift Dress - Belk | Heels - Chelsea Crew (Similar)

June: Bracelets (left to right): narrow black carved, teal carved, amber glitter, narrow red carved, butterscotch carved  |  Striped Shirt - Forever 21 (similar)  |  Red Trousers - Pinup Girl ClothingLeve Flats - Amazon

It's Tuesday, we've changed our normal Mon/Weds/Fri blog schedule this week to spend more time with family and get ready for the holidays.  But, we're excited to pop in and share one of our favorite accessory brands, Splendette.  I (Amanda) have an obsession with vintage Bakelite and I've collected it for a couple years now but it can be pricey here in Nashville and it's increasingly hard to find (though I'm always on the lookout) so, I was beyond excited when I discovered Splendette.  I made a little collage of some of my favorite bracelet stacks, some Splendette only and some mixed with Bakelite, from past blog posts so if you read regularly, you've seen her pieces here before.  Katie and I are not much for accessorizing, we tend to forget, but brooches and bracelets are our favorites and it's nice to have a little something extra to liven up an outfit which is why I chose a really simple outfit to blog and went bangle crazy.

If you're like Katie and not a big bracelet gal don't fret!  Splendette also makes adorable necklaces like the one above and recently sent us a couple of her carved initial brooches (we blogged those here).  The colorful marbled necklace Katie's wearing is the same colors as the teal, butterscotch and wine bangles so it's easy to coordinate accessories.  There area also carved hoop earrings to match the necklace, which means her shop has a dangerous snowball effect because why not buy all of the matching jewelry!?

June's Little Home: Christmas Edition

chunky knit scarf c/o Tokyo Blossom

Well, we had a totally different post planned for today but yesterday was full of holiday craziness in the best possible way. In Katie's case, she worked a half day and found out for her company Christmas party, they rented an entire movie theater and got to see The Force Awakens before anyone else in our little hometown.  In my case, Collin + I decided we were going to visit Jellystone Park to see the the Dancing Lights of Christmas which was awesome in all it's over-the-top glory.  You pull up, turn your headlights off, turn your radio to the station they tell you and there is about a 10 minute drive through a TON of Christmas lights which are synced up to the music.  Then, you go to Santa's village and explore so we drank apple cider and ate deep fried Oreos. Seriously y'all, we love cheesy Christmas festivities, so of course, we also got our picture taken with Santa. After that, we drove over to the Opryland Hotel and explored because they go all out every year and it's so worth spending a couple of hours exploring.

Needless to say, I'd snapped some photos of the Christmas decor around my house and thought, this would be the perfect day to post them.  The first few photos are from the day a couple weeks ago when I found my vintage aluminum Christmas tree at the flea market.  After a good deal and a little TLC, I love it and I'm so happy to finally have one. Now, I just have to hunt down a few spare branches and a color wheel.  Also, yes, we have a surplus of bell jars thanks to Collin's curiosities collection so I filled one with ornaments and tinsel, because, why not? ;)

What do your Christmas decorations look like?
We'd love to see them, feel free to post photos, below!
