Recently, Amelia + I were lucky enough to have our Dressing Rooms featured in the current issue of Caboodle Magazine and a few weeks ago, Amelia blogged about hers here.  After I started selling off so much of my wardrobe, I told myself I needed to take some updated shots of the room.  This room is a collection of my favorite things (for example, the blue floral vintage dress pictured above was my grandmother's in high school) so, if I'm not hanging out with Collin, it's where I spend the most time... which means it's the first to end up looking like a twister rolled through.  But, every once and a while I take the time to dial back the mass pandemonium and tidy it up enough to photograph. ;)  I get asked a lot of questions about how I stay organized, what's in the suitcases, etc. so I thought this would be a great chance to answer some of those.

The suitcases hold my winter accessories, cardigans and other random things that I want out of sight.  The shoes I wear most are the ones on the racks and I keep the rest in a vintage hamper.  I use glass Coca Cola bottles for my bracelets, little hooks and a taxidermied deer for my necklaces (Collin's oddities collection has started leaking out into every room of our home).  I DIY'd that little gingham board for my brooches + glasses, which is quite an accomplishment considering my DIY endeavors are usually complete failures.  But, I'm working on the tutorial for this one and it will be on the blog in the coming weeks.

Recently, we were able to shoot part of our photos for the Junebugs and Georgia Peaches Collection with Pinup Girl Clothing in my little dressing room.  I've never considered myself to have any sort of knack for interior design, so that was an absolute dream.  Also y'all have met her before, but Lady Thackery Binx was looking extra glamorous, so I had to include her in here too.

What is your favorite room in your home?

What a dream! I live in a tiny house so my whole house is pretty much one room- so I guess the whole place is my fave room! I do love my bedroom though (it doesn't have a door but is otherwise it's own space). It isn't much bigger than our bed which is high so we could fit dressers under it. The bed is right next to a window to look out (no neighbors) and the ceiling is wood and rafters. It's kinda like a ship bunk and super cozy.

  8. Your wardrobe is almost surreal, it's so amazing! Wow, wow and wow again! Great organization, very much including how you store/display your glasses - clever idea!

This is so breath taking! I am so looking forward to the gingham board for the brooches + glasses holder tutorial. Super excited! When I saw you on P.U.Gs website, OH! the endless possibilities, time for me to save those dollars. Great idea to use the bottles for your bracelets. I use those vintage nylon stacking boxes, that Atomic Red head blogged about http://atomicredhead.com/2014/02/18/organize-it-with-stocking-boxes/ to organize my bracelets.

  15. Amazing! This almost makes me think maybe we do need to be looking at 4 bedroom houses. ;) Or maybe my craft room/office can also be a dressing room.

  17. Haha, I keep forgetting there are photos of this EVERYWHERE now. And don't be, I'll just start renting our space like a B&B. haha ;)

  18. I love that someone else uses "dude" at the beginning of sentences, I have to convince myself NOT to do it when I'm writing blog posts. HAHA. But thank you so much, it's my eclectic collection of random pretties. <3

  19. Haha I'm a little neurotic about organization. If I could make it my job, I would, but I just settle for keeping my boss organized. ; )

  20. Well thank you ma'am. I literally keep shoes until they "die". haha

  21. Haha uh oh, that's dangerous ;) I work down the street from a Bettie Page Store (or Tatyana Design, whatever you want to call it now) and I find myself sneaking over there during lunch breaks... often.

  22. Well thank you , Jessica! And that was actually a last minute addition after I finished my brooch board and now it's one of my favorite things about the room and the most convenient thing ever for daily glasses changes! Love it! <3

  23. It will be my tutorial and I'm a little neurotic so I'm still working on it but I can't wait to share it! haha. I was keeping mine spread out on top of my dresser and was SO happy to get the space back. <3

  24. Haha I totally recommend it! Collin + I made an agreement that he could use the bonus room for records and his toy collection and I got the spare bedroom for this. Best. Decision. Ever. <3

  25. Well thank you so much, Erica. Also, you're the sweetest for saying that, we were having SUCH a hard time keeping it a secret and were so stoked when everyone found out! Can't wait for the lookbook and the rest of the dresses to be released so we can see ladies in them <3

  26. Haha well thank you! And the rug is from Ikea. Also, Lady Binx says thank you, she'll never turn down a compliment ;)

  27. Lisa, this actually used to have my sewing machine, etc. in it and then the clothes just eventually took over! I sort of miss the crafting space but now I just do crafts on the dining room table. You win some, you lose some. haha. ;)

  28. Well thank you! I can't wait to share the tutorial for the brooch display! <3

  29. Yes! I'm working on it and I can't wait to share it, I think I'll have it ready by the end of the month. <3 And what an awesome idea! I need some of those boxes to use for actual nylons, mine are sadly just sort of.... shoved in a drawer.

  30. Hahaha I'm just going to open a B&B out of my dressing room ; ) Also, I love my living room also, it's my quiet room and I think it's the room that best reflects mine + Collin's style mixed. Which, of course, makes me love it even more.

  31. Wonderful collection and space, I wish I had both! We are currently moving and the battle is raging on for the spare bedroom. Wardrobe won't fly but as long as I let him display WWII memorabilia (on shelves, high up), I'm going to get my craft room. Gotta be happy with what I can get! And I'm so happy to get some crafting space, but I'll still be over here drooling over yours!
