Recently, Amelia + I were lucky enough to have our Dressing Rooms featured in the current issue of Caboodle Magazine and a few weeks ago, Amelia blogged about hers here. After I started selling off so much of my wardrobe, I told myself I needed to take some updated shots of the room. This room is a collection of my favorite things (for example, the blue floral vintage dress pictured above was my grandmother's in high school) so, if I'm not hanging out with Collin, it's where I spend the most time... which means it's the first to end up looking like a twister rolled through. But, every once and a while I take the time to dial back the mass pandemonium and tidy it up enough to photograph. ;) I get asked a lot of questions about how I stay organized, what's in the suitcases, etc. so I thought this would be a great chance to answer some of those.
The suitcases hold my winter accessories, cardigans and other random things that I want out of sight. The shoes I wear most are the ones on the racks and I keep the rest in a vintage hamper. I use glass Coca Cola bottles for my bracelets, little hooks and a taxidermied deer for my necklaces (Collin's oddities collection has started leaking out into every room of our home). I DIY'd that little gingham board for my brooches + glasses, which is quite an accomplishment considering my DIY endeavors are usually complete failures. But, I'm working on the tutorial for this one and it will be on the blog in the coming weeks.
Recently, we were able to shoot part of our photos for the Junebugs and Georgia Peaches Collection with Pinup Girl Clothing in my little dressing room. I've never considered myself to have any sort of knack for interior design, so that was an absolute dream. Also y'all have met her before, but Lady Thackery Binx was looking extra glamorous, so I had to include her in here too.
