The Pinup Perfect Petticoat // GIVEAWAY

Monday, December 8, 2014

We know it's the time of year where everyone is giving so we thought it would be the perfect month to host more than one giveaway  I'll provide the details at the end of the post, but two lucky ladies will be able to win any Malco Modes petticoat they choose.

We wear petticoats almost every day so we're always on the lookout for a good one.  As y'all know, we usually link the VaVa Voluminous Petticoat from Modcloth but we've gotten some feedback about the length being off for some people, the volume and the fact that it's a bit itchy and we wanted to provide an alternative for those of you who didn't like it.  We started hearing amazing things about Malco Modes so we knew we had to try their petticoats for ourselves (plus they're made right here in Tennessee, and any company that can please a square dancer can make a freaking amazing petticoat).  I chose the Jennifer Petticoat in Peach.

It was definitely a bit of getting used to as it's one the fluffier petticoats I've tried, but it's wonderful!  It's so much softer than any petticoat I've tried and it doesn't get smushed by the weight of heavier dresses + skirts like the PUG Jenny Skirt/Dress or a Bernie Dexter Dress.   If you're looking for something a little less extreme, but equally as soft, I think the Zooey Petticoat Slip might be a good option.

Pinup Girl Clothing was having a 25% off Jenny Skirts sale about a week before Black Friday so I decided to snatch up this Jenny Skirt in Burlesque Performer Print.  I absolutely love the little corseted ladies + the colors and it also gave me an excuse to break out my Voodoo Vixen Top again.  While we're speaking about petticoats and underpinnings, I've been struggling to find a bra that doesn't make my boobs look insane in this top + a few others.  Being small but well endowed can be difficult for a lot of styles because most of my torso... is my boobs.  But I snatched up this Goddess Bra and it has a minimizing effect. I. Love. It.  It's the exact same 34DD size as all my other bras... with WAY less cleavage in my face. SO PERFECT.

  1. The Jennifer looks like so much fun and there are SO many color choices! The purples look amazing, but it's so hard to choose a favorite!

    ReplyDelete
  2. I don't have a petticoat, but considering some recent purchases from pinup girl and voodoo vixen I might need to get one! There are so many great colors I wouldn't know where to start.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I already have a white petticoat, but I am looking for a nice red or black one to go with all my vintage dress purchases from Etsy!

    ReplyDelete
  4. I'd probably get the Jennifer in black...or maybe jade...or red. Too many choices lol
    Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'd go for the Zooey in light pink!

    ReplyDelete
  6. peach petticoat is amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I love the Jennifer! I'd probably go with red since I've always wanted a red crinoline!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I've been thinking about buying a red one for a couple of dresses I own but if I won I may be persuaded to go for the peach. It's gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  9. The Jennifer in Light Pink or Lavender/Lilac would be a great starter petticoat for me as I am pettiless.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I have one sad vintage petticoat, and this looks like it would be a great upgrade!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I think id love and aqua one! Malco modes is so classic I have a vintage petticoat from them! Soft too

    ReplyDelete
  12. I am really liking the dusty rose. Not that it would match anything in particular. I would just wear it with everything

    ReplyDelete
  13. I would love a black one to go under my Harlequin Jenny dress!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I love the basic black, but also love the look of the red or raspberry as a nice pop. They look amazingly soft!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ahh so excited! I think I would pick a pink or a black one :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. So cute! I would probably pick black just to be sure I could wear it with everything!

Always looking for the perfect petticoat! Do these feel big and stiff?

    ReplyDelete
  18. This petticoat looks soooo amazing!! I am looking for a really nice and fluffy petticoat that goes with my brand new PUG red harlequin dress for this Christmas. I would probably choose the Jennifer petticoat in ruby red that goes perfectly with the dress!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Such a gorgeous outfit, I love that top and skirt together :) Too bad they don't sell those in Europe and I'd get horrible custom fees if I ordered from PUG. (Someday!)

My favourite petticoat would be Jennifer and probably in light blue or maybe even peach since I already got two white petticoats (one Hell Bunny and the other Sam's, which is a company that actually makes awesome petticoats in US), red, light pink and black petticoats. I'm a petticoat freak, but all of my petticoats are the long kind except for one that is more like a crinoline made out of organza. I'd love to have more shorter petticoats.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think I would probably get the Jennifer in black to start off with. But I love the wide range of color options they have! :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. I love that peach one! Swoon!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. The peach color is amazing! I love how fluffy it is too.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I would choose either the Zooey or the Angela. And probably in black because I'm boring like that haha!

    ReplyDelete
  24. What a way to start the week! Thanks, ladies. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I've been dying for a lavender petticoat to go under my new, and first, PUG Jenny dress!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I would have to get the Savannah in pink.
I miss round/square dancing petticoats so much, I lived in them most of my childhood.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'd like the Jennifer petticoat in black, for starters :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yay!! First, thank you for hosting this giveaway, it's so awesome! Second, I think I would go with the Zooey in white or pink. I recently went to NYC and got my first petticoat from a cute shop in Brooklyn called Slap Back (I totally recommend it if you're in the area. They're on instagram too but that's besides the point) and it was one she was kinda just trying to get rid of because she started carrying handmade and custom. Leg Avenue brand so it's pretty costumey and way long on me, I'm 5'1" and was constantly pulling it up on thanksgiving, but perfect for my dress form when I make dresses.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Love Malco Modes petticoats....they are so softy and fluffy!! If I won, I would get the Jennifer (582) in Black.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'd also get the Jennifer in peach! :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I would get the Jennifer in black or pink

    ReplyDelete
  32. Beautiful!! I totally cannot wait to try these!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'd go for the Zooey in black. Thanks for an awesome giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have been eyeing Malco Modes forever now! They all look so dreamy! The jennifer is definitely the one I've had bookmarked for awhile now ;)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would go for the light/mint green. I love that color!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I just bought the one off of Modcloth and I'm in love with it! However, I would love some more poof because I love that look!! I figured I would be buying from Malco Modes when I was ready for another petticoat because I was at a toss up between Modcloth's and the Jennifer petticoat when I bought the one I have. I would absolutely love to win the Jennifer!! Thanks for two amazing giveaways ladies!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Although the Hell Bunny petticoats turned out to be exactly the right length for me, I've heard great things about Malco Modes. I have to say that I really love the Savannah style in white/pastel rainbow -- it's so fun! For practical uses though, I think the Zooey style in red or black would be ideal. Thanks for the chance, girls!

I'd love a white petticoat. I don't own one so I'd love a white one that way I can wear it with most outfits.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ive been in search of the perfect petticoat thats a good length and soft and it looks like I've finally found it! Id love it in black or white xx

    ReplyDelete
  41. I would probably get the Jennifer in Red.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm in love with the red Michelle petticoat!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ahhhh drooling over this. And I love that bra!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I own a few coquettes (glad they finally gave them names!) but I'd love a Jennifer in green for Xmas

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think I'd get the Jennifer petticoat in burgundy/wine--I love that color paired with pale pink for the holidays!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wowee, That looks so lovely and soft! The rest of my petticoats are shades of white and beige but that peach colour looks lovely. I think I would have a hard time choosing between getting peach, or something like yellow or ruby red!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh my! So many beautiful colors, but i think I would pick the burgundy for winter!

    ReplyDelete
  48. These look very like the lovely cloud like VOH petticoats. So many lovely colours! If I was being practical, I would choose black. The jade, peacock blue and burgundy are all very appealing though.

    ReplyDelete
  49. It's hard to get a real feel for the fullness, but I think I'd get the Jennifer in something light like white or peach.... Hmmm!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I would love a purple or light pink!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Fabulous, your outfit is so awesome-just adore that skirt!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I love the Jennifer, in either a dark or light blue. I can't decide!

    ReplyDelete
  53. They all look so lovely! I would probably pick something fun like blue or pink <3

    ReplyDelete
  54. RockabellaqueenElsaDecember 8, 2014 at 4:52 PM

I would really like a red or blue one. Red would look good with my navy polka dot dress and red 80s does 50s prom dress. Blue would go with the navy one and two other 50s dresses

    ReplyDelete
  55. I would get a Jennifer in white!

    ReplyDelete
  56. The dark turquoise would be fun contrast color for black dresses and skirts!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hope at DisneylandDecember 8, 2014 at 6:18 PM

These are so cute and don't look itchy at all! I love how the ruffles look on the bottom. I only have one Leg Ave. petticoat and it's so long on me. :( If I could I would get the Catherine in light pink or black. Regardless of the giveaway, I've bookmarked the site for a future purchase. Thanks for the recommendation ladies!:)

  58. Jennifer in purple for under my wedding dress in August

    ReplyDelete
  59. Too, too pretty! And what an amazing dress!

    ReplyDelete
  60. *sigh* $55 to ship to Australia.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I love, love these petticoats! I can just imagine how cute the Jennifer petticoat in lilac would look under my pastel Jenny dresses <3 that would be my ideal combo. Shipping is a little pricey to Aus but consider it bookmarked anyway!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I would probably go with a Jennifer in dark turquoise, burgundy, ruby red, or berry. They all look so beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I love that peach color you chose, throw my hat in the ring for this give away! ((fingers crossed))

    ReplyDelete
  64. Definetly the Jennifer, but I don't know how I'll decide on a colour... Maybe the Royal Blue for my wedding dress...

    ReplyDelete
  65. I like the Jennifer in peach or hot pink, but the Zooey is probably more practical for my work as a teacher. Don't want to be sweeping things off the kids' desks!

    ReplyDelete
  66. What a beautiful petticoat! It even looks soft! <3

    ReplyDelete
  67. How appropriate that you chose it in peach! It's so cute. I think I would get the Savannah in light pink/pastel rainbow. Or one of the Jennifers but there's so many pretty colors to choose from.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yay for another giveaway!!! I have been wanting a Malco Modes petticoat for awhile, I love all the colors of the Jennifer but for everyday (for me) the Zooey in black or pale pink would be perfect :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. I don't know which petticoat I'd choose if I won, but I'd definitely go for a 'real' colour - I have one black and one white 'everyday' petticoat, as well as one teal and on pink 'not everyday' (read: huge!!) petticoat...maybe red, or purple <3

    ReplyDelete
  70. This is my favorite brand for petticoats!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Oooh, I'm been looking at these petticoats for a long time! I think I would probably get black, since I have white and I think black would be a good basic color to have. If not black though I'd do something crazy like red or pink:P
    Theresa

    ReplyDelete
  72. Oh, you look cute with the full skirt! I like your peach colored one.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I don't own a petticoat yet so I'd love to win one in black!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I've been eyeing these for a while! Petticoats are the one thing I don't have. A black one would be perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I feel like the Zooey in light pink would be the best choice for me - but I've never worn a petticoat before!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Wow, they have a lot of great colours! It would be very difficult to choose ... but the mint green is lovely! ^___^

    ReplyDelete
  77. So in love with that Burlesque Performer Print! I'll have to look into finding something similar to that Goddess Bra. Minimizing effect, yes please!

I love the petticoat in blue or black!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I love the Jennifer, still in doubt whether I'd pick (boring, though matching) black or natural beige... My dresses all require something else! The zooey would be lovely too. Red or black... I love the lacy trim on that one. :)

    ReplyDelete
  79. The jennifer in white or black probably. I might just chose to go a little crazy though and get a pretty color!

    ReplyDelete
  80. The jennifer - I kind of need a white or red:)

    ReplyDelete
  81. I need the red to give to my mammy.

    ReplyDelete
  82. You look darling in that skirt! I only have a petticoat in black but id love a white and red one, the only problem is where to put, since the ol' closet is already pretty packed and the petticoats take up so much room. They make our cloths so pretty thou.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'd pick the Jennifer in Burgundy/Wine =)

    ReplyDelete
  84. That's the petticoat I use! I really love how comfy it is! The fabric is awesome! I had 2 itchy petticoats before I got the Malco Modes. I've been looking into getting a new one though because I find 19.5" too short for most of my skirts/dresses. I think 23 or 24" would be perfect because wearing the 19.5" lower makes it less fluffy :[

I think I'd want the Jennifer again in a larger size for the length and to get it in a fun color. Or the Cosette for my a-line skirts!

    ReplyDelete
  85. My eye immediately went to the Savannah petticoat when I peeked at the site- probably in the light blue with pastel rainbow combo. So pretty! These do look nice and full too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. since i always sweep stuff from chairs etc. with my fuller petticoats, i would love to win the zooey one in light pink! <3

    ReplyDelete
  87. Oh, how I would love an orange petticoat!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Wow! These would be great for swing dancing!

    ReplyDelete
  89. These are lovely! I'd pick the Meghan Petticoat in Dark Royal Blue or the Jennifer Petticoat in White! Either would make a great addition to the massive vintage Malco Modes petticoat my grandmother gave me for my 16th birthday :)

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'd like the Zooey Petticoat in White!

    ReplyDelete
  91. You young ladies are just adorable. The Jennifer Petticoat in Black, please :)

    ReplyDelete
  92. It'd have to be the Jennifer petticoat in Red! Because what else would go so well with my lipstick than a sometimes secret sometimes overt petticoat.

  96. This is so perfectly timed! I've just been looking into my first petticoat and I would love the Jennifer in Black!

    ReplyDelete
  97. The peach one reminds me of a barbie I had growing up!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I have a Malco Modes black one and a giant peach one so I guess Jennifer in royal blue!

    ReplyDelete
  99. I would choose Jennifer in burgundy!!

    ReplyDelete
  100. I never have a petticoat in my life, but all that fluffy colors I want them all!

    ReplyDelete
