Ascots + Polka Dots

Saturday, November 1, 2014

We reviewed Lindy Bop a little while ago (here) and a few people made the comment that even ordering through Amazon, they hated the wait time for international shipping.  We love that option of needing a dress and knowing that for $50, we can get something that while not perfect, will be damn cute.  So, we found a solution to the problem, Pollypop Boutique.

When I see dresses with ascots or pussy bows (yep, that's what they're called haha), I'm immediately reminded of Peggy Olson and that just SELLS them to me.  So when I saw the Shelley Dress, I knew I had to have it.  I love the little polka dots because they add a little something to an otherwise plain dress.  I've found that every Lindy Bop dress I own is made of a different fabric (I have 4 or 5 now) so it's always sort of a surprise when I get a new one. I was also really stoked because instead of waiting for it to come from the UK, Pollypop Boutique had it showing up at my front door after about 3 days. And I'm impatient so that was awesome.

Also, she was sweet enough to include this awesome alika orchid (they're only $5!) and I was stoked.  It fastens in with a little alligator clip and it's the perfect size... I have my eye on the orange and pink now.

I'll start by sharing that I am absolutely terrified of clowns.  However, I am so in love with this season of American Horror Story and this dress instantly reminded me of something that Jessica Lange's character, Elsa Mars, would wear.  The red and white polka dots would fit in perfect at the freak show.  The fit and shape of this dress are extremely flattering like most Lindy Bop dresses.  Pollypop Boutique offers so many different styles of dresses that I'm sure there is something that will flatter all different shapes and sizes of ladies

Pollypop Boutique carries A LOT of Lindy Bop styles without the wait time of the transit from the UK and we've also seen items in stock in her store, that were out of stock elsewhere.  if you're ever in a time crunch and need a cute, inexpensive dress quickly, this is a great place to start.  Aside from clothing they also sell accessories, jewelry and even hair products.  Pollypop Boutique is basically a one-stop shop for all things awesome!

Do you own any Lindy Bop? (We'd love to see photos!)
Have you ever shopped with Pollypop Boutique?

  2. First of all, you both look darling, and I'm especially excited for Katie -- you finally got this dress!! I'm still waiting on my dress from Pollypop; unfortunately, it seems like you guys may have gotten faster shipping :-\ (my Lindybop dress from Amazon actually got here quicker!)... but her shop is so cute, and I'm excited to get my dress from her.

  3. I love it! I have both of those dresses already, and I didn't think about belting the teal one. It looked matronly on its own.

  4. All of my orders direct from Lindy Bop took about a week. Ordering from them isn't bad at all for international!

  11. I've shopped with Pollypop before. She recently had a HUGE Instagram sale where I scored a Lindybop dress. I had also bought my Ophelia dress from her shop.

  12. I always look at Lindy Bop and it's so cute but I still haven't decided on a first purchase yet. These dresses look great on you girls. Also I'm in love with June's purse and it looks great with that dress.

  14. I was so unsure about buying the Shelley dress until I saw this post. On official Lindy Bop photos, the colour was just a bit much for me, but after these photos? Oh man, I was sold. It arrived this morning, just in time for Christmas Day, and I am so in love. So, yeah, in a roundabout way, thanks for my new dress, lovelies! x

  15. Oooh, what size are you wearing in the Shelley? I've tried Lindybop's Vivi and Ophelia dresses, but this one looked less bust-friendly on the website. Much more tempted now! Also, have you tried their petite sizing? I was really excited to discover it today!
