GIVEAWAY: Teacups + Dem Bones Sugar (Cube) Skulls

Monday, October 13, 2014

Shortly after our Friday Favorites post (here) featuring the awesome sugar skull creations of Dem Bones on Etsy, we were contacted asking if we'd like a chance to give some to y'all and... of course we would! We thought it would be a great chance to get a lucky lady set up for tea time (we're definitely tea nerds, we were born in the wrong country), so we hunted down a few other fun items to throw in. Keep on readin' at the end we'll have the deets on entering the giveaway!

We spent ridiculous amounts of time hunting down "the perfect teacup" and we were SO excited when we found this one. It is decorated with an all-over floral chintz pattern. There are little yellow flowers, white daisies, and pink and blue flowers.  We said a million prayers to the tea cup gods that it would arrive in one piece.  Also, this mixture of spooky + cute makes me want to curl up with an Agatha Christie novel.... for all Doctor Who watchers... hopefully no one would turn into giant bugs.

We are ADDICTED to Adagio Teas (who are the makers of Harry Potter and Doctor Who tea as well as the infamous Birthday Tea) and had so much fun filling up a cart with tea for this giveaway... then we realized over half of what we picked was inside their Stocking Stuffers Sampler.  We know a lot of people (including us) go the tea bag route for convenience, but there is nothing quite like the taste + ritual of using loose leaf tea.  The incredibly sweet lady that sold us the diffuser spoon, also sent along a sample of Let It Be Organic Loose Leaf Tea by Wild Sage Apothecary which is a blend of tulsi, lemon balm, shizandra berry, and cinnamon and we thought we'd add that to the giveaway as well.

The winner will receive:
    • Vintage Floral Teacup
    • Molded Sugar Cube Skulls by Dem Bones:  A box of 9 hauntingly sweet, molded sugar cube skulls (item can be found in her shop here)
    • Tea Infuser Spoon: Stainless steel, spring-loaded spoon style tea infuser to use with your new loose leaf tea
    •  Six (6) Tins of Loose Leaf Tea: From Adagio Teas and include: candy cane, pumpkin spice, candy apple, gingerbread, chestnut & cranberry
    •  Tin of Let It Be Loose Leaf Tea: which is a blend of tulsi, lemon balm, shizandra berry, and cinnamon
The second place winner will receive:

The giveaway will end in one week on Monday October 21, 2014 and you can enter via the widget below:

  9. I usually make loose tea at home. My sweetie bought me a diffuser tea pot. My current favorite tea is the Oprah Chai from Teavana with some vanilla almond milk. Its so nice and spicy it doesn't need to be sweetened!

  13. Thank you, it was so much fun to pick out! Oh I LOVE a good chai, that's my go-to drink at Starbucks and it's Amelia's as well but there is NOTHING like loose leaf chai. I keep chai tea bags and work and am about to run off and make a cup right now. <3

  17. Well good luck on the entry! I think the sugar skull cubes are just fun to have around for when you're drinking alone or having people over.

I love teacups as well and I collect Pyrex but I've been thinking of getting into picking up teacups I love when I see them around as well. The shop that sold these, in particular, had AMAZING things.

  18. Oh! I diffuser teapot! I should definitely invest in one of those. I just have an old diffuser on a chain but I love this spoon idea and I'd never seen one that wasn't vintage before, I might have to buy one for myself.

I'll have to try that! We actually have a Teavana here, I always attempt to remember to pick up vanilla almond milk for coffee and tea but always forget and end up using whatever I can find around, you have me craving it now!

  19. I LOVE LOVE LOVE tea. I'm not British--just Polish. And I grew up drinking tea as a cure-all for whatever ails you! Currently, I'm kind of hooked on Teavana teas because there is a shop not too far from me. I usually get a half-and-half mix of their Wild Orange Blossom and their Youthberry. It's super fruity and with a hint of milk, it's yummy! Right now, they have a seasonal flavor called Pumpkin Spice Brulee that I'm basically addicted to.

  23. I love all things Dia De Los Muertos...I have never tried loose teas always wanted to suppose I'm just a simple green tea in a bag kinda girl. I also use peppermint & ginger when I'm not feeling good. But I'd love to try anything new. Thanks for your awesome IG and give away

  26. Which Harry Potter and Doctor Who tea do you suggest??

    ReplyDelete
  27. There is legitimately one whole cupboard in my kitchen dedicated to tea...and this is a small apartment where storage is at a premium. Don't care...the tea must have it's space! Yorkshire Gold is a great back tea if you want a really nice English tea for the afternoons.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I love raw tea in a diffuser as well as fruit herbal tea

  29. I gave up coffee a couple of years ago and only drink tea now. Just the ritual of making it is soothing to me! I love those little sugar cubes; I'm going to have to buy some for my sister because she is impossible to shop for but she will love those. Thanks for the give away. No matter who wins, I just love seeing the cute things you post about!

  30. Wow, what a fab giveaway! So many types of tea o __ o I've never had anything Pumpkin Spice flavoured before (I don't think
it's really a thing in Australia) but I'm so curious about it; I've very
    tempted to order some!
I have a pantry shelf dedicated to tea but I must admit that I mostly drink Earl Grey tea bags because I'm too lazy to make a pot everytime I want a cuppa. Obviously I need to get one of those infuser spoons!

  31. Every afternoon I drink a cup of tea. It helps me relaxing after a long day. I have tried very many different teas, but my favorit is from YogiTea and is flavoured whit chokolate. It is like heaven! Loose leaf teas is what you can buy at my loakal 'tea-house', so often that is what I drink. I would love to win, cause I have been looking for the perfect tea-cup for years and have not found it jet, and it is kind of a problem with all the tea I am drinking...

  32. I'm just now getting into loose leaf tea. My husband and I often find ourselves at teavana. I'm addicted to a mixture of their pineapple kona pop and blueberry bliss.

  33. Hi girls! is this giveaway also for your international readers? Cause I'm a huge tea-fan but I live in the Netherlands and can understand if you didn't want to risk that gorgeous cup breaking in the mail ;)
My favorite tea consist of loose tealeaves and has a rose-flavor. I purchased it last summer holiday in Lille, France in this adorable old fancy tearoom where I ate my first eclair (if you've never had one, you girls must really try one soon, they are pure heaven, unicorns and rainbows combined in a pastry) it gives me a great excuse to go back to France once the tea is finished ;)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well thank you, and yes, we like to offer lots of options! Nothing Pumpkin Spice flavoured?! You DEFINITELY need to try it at least one!

I absolutely love Earl Gray, that is usually the "base" for my London Fog's. I also have K-Cups for my Keurig of tea.... that is probably "cheating" but it's just so damn quick! And I need one too. I should've ordered an extra one for myself. ; )

  50. OH! White chocolate flavoured tea? I HAVE to try it! And, I definitely prefer loose leaf teas myself. Well good luck! I definitely agree, you're in need of the perfect tea cup with all of that tea drinking going on!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm sure you did and good luck to you!
    And thank you!

I sort of alternate between tea and coffee drinking, I like to mix it up.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh! Vanilla Chai is my go to but I think everyone needs to try Pumpkin Spice at least once, it's absolutely wonderful! <3

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi Kim! The giveaway is for anyone and everyone who enters, no matter where they are! We are going to wrap the sh*t out of this teacup to ensure it makes it safely to whichever reader wins it. haha. ; )

I've never left the United States and that entire story made me so jealous, I can hardly stand it! I want to go to France and try wonderful rose-flavoured tea and eat eclairs! I've had one before.... but it's probably nothing like the one you had!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I feel like I need to send you guys some Australian teas (or do a swap!), it is never endingly amusing to me all the differences between the States and here. And yep, we don't have anything pumpkin spice here... I think because we are heading into spring as you guys are heading into autumn/fall, we missed the boat on that one (as it links into the halloween/pumpkin type era of the year). I'm probably more with Katie, I drink green/fruit teas, yum! My boyfriend's family are more a black/white tea drinking family, they have a traditional cuppa before bed. Cannot go past a scone with jam and cream and a cup of tea though, yummmm! xx

I recently heard about Adagio and have yet to try their teas! I totally love that they have blends inspired by shows!

    ReplyDelete
  60. They have great diffuser tea pots on Amazon! Mine is plain glass with the diffuser in the center and the diffuser is really big, which is convenient if the tea has fruit in it as those can be larger chunks.

  61. I'm from Scotland where we have several times of the day that are all about drinking tea. Elevenses, teatime and high tea. We are akin to Hobbits. Then there is all the tea drinking in between those times too. Now I live in USA, whenever family come to visit us they always bring some good old Tetley Tea bags with them. I'm a lover of all tea flavors and having recently found a trader joes for the first time in my life I'm obsessing over Pumpkin Chai Latte. Mmmm Mmmm. I have a ridiculous collection of bone China tea sets, some of which I'll be selling off soon, so keep your eye out for them on ebay. Your giveaway is the cutest collection of tea goodness I've seen in a long while. Thanks for always being awesome girls :)
