Heart of Haute Giveaway + The Bee's Knees and Cherries Jubilee

Monday, September 8, 2014

When people ask me for suggestions on where to get great tops my first answer is always Heart of Haute.  Heart of Haute has plenty of options for plain, staple tops, but my heart is taken by their amazing prints.  From anchors to daisies to tiki prints Heart of Haute has so many amazing options.  We also talked about how great their Summer dresses were here.

After I show you my two favorite prints by Heart of Haute I'll give you the details on our Heart of Haute giveaway where you can enter for the chance to win a dress of your choice!

Outfit Details:
Big Red Hair Flower | NicCoCo Creations
Glasses |  Ray-Ban
Pearl Vintage Purse  |  Great Grandma Morgan :D
Ida Kitten Heels | BAIT Footwear

I've been sick for about a week now, and although I had a fever (and a sore throat from hell) I still felt  insanely cute in these new pieces from Heart of Haute.  I can't decide if I look more like a college student in the 60s or a flight attendant...just remember the nearest exit on the plane may be behind you, anyone want peanuts? I rarely wear A-line skirts, but I'm absolutely obsessed with this one.  It cinches my waist, but then flares out enough that my hips don't look too big.

Outfit Details:
Hair Flower | NicCoCo Creations
Glasses |  Ray-Ban
Blue Bee Ella Top c/o Heart of Haute
Essential Elegance Skirt in Red | Modcloth (in black here , similar here)
Va Va Voluminous Petticoat | Modcloth
Heels | Modcloth (Similar here)

Aside from the Cherries Jubilee top, the Blue Bee Ella Top is my favorite piece from Heart of Haute.  The Ella Top is a fitted top with a necktie.  It's perfect for Summer with its short sleeves and this print of the top is especially perfect, because of the bee print.  I don't know about y'all, but I'm a sucker for primary colors so I was totally in love with this outfit. Whenever I wear this top, I always get "I beez in the trap, bee, beez in the trap" stuck in my head...no judgement.

I could go on and on about how awesome Heart of Haute is--great clothing made in the USA and Head Bee, Mandie Bee is a total sweetheart.  But, now that I've showed you my favorite prints by Heart of Haute, enter to win something that you love!

  3. I love Heart of Haute!! I wanted the Maybeline dress in the diamantes print, but they stopped making that style with that print by the time I had the money! But I got this fabulous Aline skirt!!

  4. I don't think my photo posted with my comment! If it did, then I'm sorry I added it twice! :)

  5. I unfortunately do not own anything from them yet, since I'm still new to wearing dresses and skirts all the time. If I did buy something from them, it would for sure be one of the diner dresses! I'm in love with all of them- especially the black one. By the way Amelia, you would be the cutest flight attendant ever!

  14. Any discount codes with this post? I've been obsessively checking their site for the past 2-3 months as I just recently stumbled on their line and I LOVE IT! I really want several tops that I can only seem to find on their site, but I've been waiting for a sale. I just purchased one of their a-line skirts in the Sakura Cherry Blossom print and it is absolutely beautiful. Color and print were amazing and the fit is great, too.

Can't wait to see more from Heart of Haute!

  15. I got the diner dress in Olive a few years ago- I love it a lot, but sadly it doesn't fit too well anymore. I also have the Spy dress in maroon, which I am excited about fall coming back so I can start wearing it again! They have such great clothes.

  16. Love their clothes!! The shirts are so cute!

  17. Same question as Caroline, is this contest open internationally?

I love HoH, I own several of their dresses & skirts (but those are still Heartbreakers ;) ) Somehow they managed to get good fitting patterns for their dresses and their selection of fabrics is just fun! Always something new though no fear that a favourite dress style suddenly doesn't fit anymore... :) Love!

Adding your blog to my reader anyway.

  18. Great outfits! That bee print is so cute! I also love the Mint Julep print they have, especially on the Marseilles Dress ^___^

  19. I totally agree with you lovely ladies, Heart of Haute has darling collections even for us plus size ladies at reasonable prices too!

  20. I entered! I love Heart of Haute, my first pieces are from their sale on sale rack items (they have this sale every few months or so...huge markdowns on items that were samples or that have minimal flaws). Here's a picture of me in their black cherry Sweetie dress :)

  21. I have one and I absolutely love it! I'm usually not an A-line kinda gal but I heard such good things about theirs, I snatched one up. Which dress?!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Get it girl! I love that tiki print on their website but I love it even MORE on you! This is absolutely adorable, you're making me want one of my own.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I have my eye on the white/ivory Monte Carlo dress as being perfect for a potential special occasion in the next year or so... and I could rewear it as a DAR Page outfit since we wear all white at events.

    ReplyDelete
  24. You did EXACTLY what I did! haha, I wanted that dress so badly! I ended up snagging the LAST diamantes print off PUGs website in a sale! You look adorable in it, and it compliments F. Scott Fitzgerald nicely. ; )

    ReplyDelete
  25. They have absolutely amazing sales, so you'll have to keep your eye out! I love the Diner Dresses, especially the red, it reminds me of Lucille Ball!

Also, Amelia is the cutest flight attendant ever!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thank you! I love Heart of Haute and was so excited about being able to offer someone a free dress! I have the Ella Top (the yellow one) in bees print and I absolutely love it!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I completely agree, I'm always so impressed with the quality of whatever I order. Also, their prints are AMAZING, I'm currently obsessed with the chemistry and atomic cat prints!

    ReplyDelete
  28. You're very welcome! Hope you find something you love!

    ReplyDelete
  29. They really are INCREDIBLY sweet, I usually end up speaking with Mandie but shes absolutely amazing and her emails usually get a giggle out of me. So funny! <3

    ReplyDelete
  30. I absolutely LOVE the bows, it makes me feel like I'm channeling my inner Eleventh Doctor! Good luck in the contest! We always like to throw Facebook in there for easy extra entries that aren't too much work for our readers haha

    ReplyDelete
  31. Not with this one, just the giveaway for this 'round. I think for a while you got a 10% off promo code if you signed up for their newsletter but I'm not sure, you could always try! I really love their tops as well, really great staple solids, which I always put to good use. xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  32. Agreed, they always have the cutest tops! xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  33. You could always sell it and order it for yourself in the right size! I chose the Super Spy dress as one of my pieces but I ordered it a size too large and sent it back so sadly it won't be featured in my post tomorrow, which is a bummer because it's SO cute. I can't wait to wear mine either!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yes ma'am, it is!

I own several of their pieces that are still labeled "Heartbreaker" too haha. Obviously we both have vintage HoH collections going ; ) I've had a lot of success with the fit of their items as well, I was in Joann's fabric shopping and people kept asking me if I'd made my dress, which I suppose really says something about how great their dresses translate onto people.

And oh! Thank you! I'm happy to hear that! Happy reading! xoxo

  35. I LOVE the mint julep print! It's such a fun amalgam of colors! I was JUST looking at those yesterday when assembling a little "print board" to include in my post tomorrow. xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  36. I totally agree, I always love to see companies who release a good deal of their pieces in all sizes instead of treating their plus size lines like unwanted step children. HoH is one of those companies that has cute stuff for everyone across the board.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yay, good luck! I always look through the pieces in those sales too because they're always super cute and incredibly worthwhile! I absolutely love the fit of this dress on you, the bodice looks amazing! xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thanks!!! I still want a Maybeline dress, I'm not head over heel about any of those current fabrics. Which is funny, because they have a bunch of fabrics I love!!! I love the idea of tying my bra strap into the shoulder bow!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hehehe so true! 👌

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ah, what a great giveaway, girlies! I think the only thing of theirs I own is a bolero (back from when they were called Heartbreaker!), so I need to remedy that! I love their floral femme prints a lot, and their blue kittens dress is super adorable. Thanks for the chance!

  41. Thanks, that's awesome! <3

As for favourite prints, I love my Aimee in Asian Fans (one-of-a-kind tester piece <3), my Sweetie in Coco Rose and my Flirty Skirt, Annie print (paired with a black & white striped Marilyn). :) My sweetie sweaters I also wear all the time, have a red & black one.

I just can't seem to stop myself when they have good sales on their sale rack, love snooping up some awesome samples from there. Only too bad shipping became so expensive... :(

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love the cats prints! I took a closer look at the blouse and it has promise. Being a little on the busty side, I don't look great in those blouses with neck ties. This one doesn't look like its too overwhelming to give me the stifled look. I am adding it to my list!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh!!!! I can only assume what that might be and it'll be PERFECT! Also, I've been thinking about how much we'll need another blogger meet-up lately!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I I'll have to google that print! How do you like the Black Striped Marilyn? I've been thinking of ordering a striped one. I have a couple of the boleros and I really love those as well.

I always consider the price THEN factor in the shipping. I sell things occasionally and realized after a few trips to the post office that it takes almost $10 to ship, for example, a Pinup Girl Clothing Jenny Dress... I've SO over the Postal Service. haha

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh! I have that too, I wore it for Katie's wedding! I love all their florals, I love any floral that looks like a vintage set of sheets, it's my default "need" print. <3

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm a 34DD-ish (I need to be resized because I'm thinking I'm more of a 32E or something, who even knows) so I usually feel like blouses with neckties don't look all that great on me either but I really like this one. I think it's the way the stitching is very complimentary.

Also, I know they ran out of the diamantes fabric, but I'm hoping it'll reappear one day!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh, I keep lurking eBay hoping one will turn up! I actually came across a brand that sells off the shoulder dresses with little holders for your bra straps so they don't show... I put the dress on and was like... this is genius! haha. Anywho, yes I agree, the bra straps being hidden by bows are amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Check out this brilliant idea!! You obviously need thick enough straps to do this, but I plan on adding these to all the dresses I can!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I have the Diner dress in blue, but there are so many other beauties I'd love to add to my collection!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm a fan of the tee, I always end up pairing it with my Annie skirt and one of the Sweetie sweaters. :) I love the fit of the tee, I just think that maybe I'd better had not thrown it into the dryer, which I did once... :( The neckline became a bit floppy, but I fixed that with putting in elastic string. The tee will show bra-straps, but for me that's not a problem really...

I think the Coco Rose is sold out as well and last time I checked the were phasing out the Annie print as well, it was still available on the sale rack at that time. :)

Unfortunately shipping is around $40-50 right now for everything more "international" than Canada. Add 27% VAT if I order something worth more than approx. $30 to $40... And that is a lot, just as much as a dress. Especially considering the fact that there are some European retailers who have similar prices, just never as many options as HOH can offer directly... :(

  53. My bust isn't too huge (I'm a 32 D), but I love the way this top fits. I wear a small, and it accommodates my bust and the bow is great.
